Remember When

The end of school was coming up and all you had to do all summer was ...NOTHING! No Summer School, no advanced sports, no jobs, no driving cars (cause we didn't have any?). Most of does didn't have fancy vacations either cause no one had the money and no one thought of it...remember the Summer Reading Programs at the Public Library where for every book you read you got a mark on a big bulletin board......I remember my neighbor boy Butchie and I reading the Oz books...devouring would be a better word -- lieing in a big Tractor tire under a Sycamore tree in Grand Island Neb. Ah....those were the days.....
